Message from the School Supervisor

"From the outside looking in you can never understand it. From the inside looking out you can never explain it."

"Brotherhood is not a destination, but a journey."

I have come across these two quotes on the internet (the link above) that describes brotherhood and friendship. To me, they best describe how we feel about our fraternity as Wahyanites, and why we want to come together on a regular basis. ‘International Conference 2010’ is a great occasion for us to re-connect and celebrate our brotherhood.

Non-Wahyanites would have a hard time understanding why we bother to invest so much time and energy celebrating our brotherhood, even with so many whom we have not met ever before! And they may wonder why we should extend our care to our successors ever so passionately, years after our own graduation. To put it in a nutshell, what on earth can we, Wahyanites benefit from this ‘bonding’?

We are comrades and faithful companions on our journey to greatness. In our brotherhood we enjoy our endearing innocence. Every bit of fraternal memories and promises of ‘I will stand by you’ keeps us going, fortifies our spirit.

As trustworthy collaborators of the Jesuits in their education ministry, we definitely do not journey on our own, but together we strive for an authentic education that we are proud of!

With prayers for a fruitful IC 2010,

Fr. Stephen Chow, S.J.
